Alcohol Issues Partnership
Project with CA University Systems
STATE, CSU, AND UC SIGN
MOUs TO ATTACK UNIVERSITY ALCOHOL ABUSE
In what may be the largest statewide effort in the nation to address
alcohol abuse and binge drinking by university students, several
California State Agencies, and the California State University, and the
University of California systems, including BartenderGirl.com announced
programs to reduce the negative impact of alcohol on California's
university campuses.
This partnership was developed to address
the problem of alcohol abuse by college students and implement
environmental management strategies in campus communities. Both the
California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) and ABC are administering
$2.57 million in federal grants to support prevention, education and
enforcement programs on and off selected campuses. ABC staff are working
with campus advisory councils and assisting local law enforcement in
addressing the specific problems of underage and binge drinking.
Underage Drinking - It's Not Worth it. Drinking is not the
problem in our society is the abuse of it!
